Arcade Fire Redefines the Music Video

Google meets Arcade Fire equals a new kind of music video

You may have seen the music video for Arcade Fire’s “Reflektor”. But did you catch last September’s Google Chrome Experiment for the song? Open up the Chrome web browser, click play on “Just a Reflektor”, and prepare to be amazed.

A scene from Google Chrome's "Just a Reflektor" experiment

Utilizing the latest, most cutting-edge tech, your computer’s camera records your smartphone/tablet’s movements to reveal the multiple layers of the video. I won’t say anything more, but enjoy the video. Want more? Watch the behind the scenes video. And, if you haven’t already, read my entire review of Arcade Fire’s Reflektor.

Very cool video and technology. When using only mouse to interact with the video, it’s very responsive. But using the phone took it to another level with sound coming from iphone and computer, plus images in the phone reflected in the webcam, and more. I love seeing how it was made and being allowed to experiment with the technology in the website too (https://www.justareflektor.com/tech?home) Thanks for highlighting this video and I’m looking forward to seeing them in concert.
